Alchemy

Alchemy was a Pseudo-Science concerned with changing base metals into gold and finding an elixir to prolong life indefinitely.

The word alchemy itself may have been derived from the Greek word "chyma" meaning "the fusing or casting of metal. Alchemy also has contribution to modern science. The equipment used in laboratories used by metallurgical and medical chemist was developed and modified for alchemical practices. Apparatus such as stills, flasks, beakers, condensers, tripods, mortar, and stirring rods were common tools of trades for alchemist. Although this was not really known nowadays,it also has a great contribution to modern science.
